Clicking sound when in 4 wheel drive

I have a 2007 Tundra 5.7, and all of a sudden this year, I get a clicking noise when in 4wd high. The shift process both ways is clean with no clunking, etc. It is most pronounced when coasting. It first only happened when going straight then gradually made the noise when turning left and then later right. It would increase with the rotational speed of the wheels.

WebJan 8, 2024 · If your talking about the gear tag it is on the rear. Look at it this way. If you have 3.73 gears and 33's @60mph your rear drive shaft will be turning at 2279rpm. If you have 4.56 gears 33's 60mph your drive shaft is now turning at 2786rpm. So if only regeared one diff, one drive shaft would be spinning faster then the other.
